The Path to Power and Policy

In Texas, the path to power — and to policy — follows a two-year, March-to-March cycle. The primary election is only the first step in electing leaders and ensuring they remain accountable to the priorities that matter most to you.

Sustained engagement across the full civic cycle is what transforms votes into results. There are four critical milestones that shape responsive, effective leadership in Texas:

  1. March Primary – where key decisions about leadership begin
  2. May Runoff – where competitive races are decided
  3. November General – where final representation is determined
  4. January Legislative Session – where policies impacting Texans’ daily lives are debated and enacted

Each step builds on the last. Staying engaged at every stage helps ensure leaders not only earn your vote, but continue to listen, respond, and deliver on the priorities that matter most to you!

March and may are When Texas Actually Elects It’s Leaders

Your vote in a primary of a few thousand voters carries far more weight than your vote in a November election of millions. To Make Matters Worse - Most of our elected leaders win the nomination by a tiny percentage of votes yet go on to represent our interests, will and values. With tailored districts, MOST RACES IN TEXAS ARE DECIDED BEFORE YOU EVER CAST A VOTE IN NOVEMBER. VOTE in March and ELECT leaders who value WHAT MATTERS MOST TO YOU!

Have you ever wondered why our elected leaders are focused on DIVISIVE, FRINGE ISSUES that don’t really matter? Have you ever showed up to vote in November and NOT LIKED ANYONE on the ballot?
